Vision
The Diocese of Motherwell ‘Young Adult Ministry Team’ offers a
holistic approach to faith development so that Young Adults
(16-35 years of age) may become better witnesses to Christ.

Through a range of events (local, national and international) the
‘Young Adult Ministry Team’ aims to:

  • Help young adults grow in confidence and self awareness.

  • Encourage the participation of young adults in their own parish.

  • Enable them to enter into dialogue with others and affect change
    in the wider society.
 
Aim
The aims of the ‘Young Adult Ministry Team’ are based around the theological virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity. The ‘Young Adult Ministry Team’ aims to:-

  • Develop the spirituality and prayer life of young adults.
  • Provide continuing catechesis in all aspects of faith.
  • Provide a space to explore and question issues around faith.
  • Help young adults to grow in confidence and self-awareness.
  • Provide a secure and confidential environment for sharing and discussion.
  • Maintain dialogue and co-operation with other Catholic agencies.
  • Raise awareness and enter into dialogue with other denominations, faiths and cultures.
  • Provide appropriate training for young adult volunteers.
  • Actively provide practical ways of being witnesses to Christ at a local level.
  • Raise awareness of the local, national and international needs of others.
     
Activities
Diocese of Motherwell ‘Young Adult Ministry Team’ offers a holistic
approach to an individuals faith development. The team offers a range of events for
young adults between 16-35 years of age – some of these include:

Retreat opportunities throughout the year

Beyond the Diocese, Pilgrimages to:

  • Taize

  • Camino de Santiago
  • World Youth Day
